Are we allowed to post links related to open ai? I wanna post a link telling people they can help save the model 4o. It’s from change.org.

Hi @azure pine. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

The knowledge sources don’t mention any OpenAI rule that generally forbids you from posting third‑party links (like change.org) about OpenAI on external sites or social media. They focus instead on:

  • Using OpenAI’s name and logo only in line with the official Brand Guidelines.[Terms of Use; App Developer Terms]
  • Following the Sharing & Publication Policy and Usage Policies when you share AI‑generated content (e.g., clearly labeling AI content, avoiding harmful or misleading content).[Sharing & publication; Usage Policies]

There is no explicit policy in these sources about petitions or “saving” a specific model, so I can’t confirm any OpenAI stance on that.

So, based on what’s provided:

  • You can generally share links about OpenAI on your own channels, as long as you:
    • Don’t misuse OpenAI’s trademarks/branding (e.g., don’t imply OpenAI endorses the petition unless that’s actually true).[App Developer Terms]
    • Don’t violate the Usage Policies (e.g., no scams, harassment, or misleading claims).[Usage Policies]

If you’re unsure whether your specific wording or use of the OpenAI name/logo complies, the safest approach is to avoid using logos and avoid implying any official partnership or endorsement.

Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:

Based on the policies in the knowledge sources, there is no rule that generally forbids you from posting links (including external links like change.org) on your own platforms.

What the policies do require is that, when you share OpenAI‑related content publicly, you:

  • Follow the Usage Policies (no illegal, harmful, or abusive activity; no scams or misleading content).[Usage policies]
  • Follow the Sharing & Publication Policy if you’re sharing AI‑generated content (e.g., clearly indicate it’s AI‑generated, don’t violate content rules).[Sharing & publication policy]

The sources don’t mention any blanket restriction on “posting links,” so as long as your post and the linked content comply with these policies and applicable law, you’re allowed to post the link.
