#Bug report sora ai.

Hi @urban seal. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.
It sounds like you’ve hit a Sora bug rather than something you can fully fix yourself.
From the available docs, there isn’t a documented self-service way to repair a broken or partially removed Sora video entry like you describe. The guidance for problematic or unwanted Sora content is to report it so the team can review and take action. [Reporting content; How we identify problematic content]
On the Sora web app you can:
- Open the video (or try to, if it still appears in your feed or profile).
- Click the
…menu in the top-right. - Choose Report and explain that:
- The video was canceled or blocked by policy,
- Deletion failed,
- The task now shows “not found” on reload but still appears in your UI (if it does). [Sora content; Blocking and reporting on Sora]
If you can’t access the … menu on that item anymore, or it no longer appears anywhere but you’re still worried about it, the next step is to contact OpenAI Support directly and describe the bug (include screenshots and timestamps if you can). [Blocking and reporting on Sora]
There’s no additional troubleshooting flow for this specific “delete failed / then not found” state in the knowledge I have, so beyond reporting it and contacting Support, there isn’t a documented fix you can apply yourself.
Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
@urban seal Kapa.ai is still learning and improving, please let me know how I did by reacting below.
@ocean inlet so about that. The three dots only show the option delete. Not report.
Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:
You’ve run into a UI edge case that isn’t described in detail in the docs, so I’ll flag what is documented and what you can do next.
-
If the item is effectively gone already
Since reloading the task shows “not found,” it likely means the backend has removed it even though the UI still shows a broken entry. In that case, there may be nothing more you can do from your side; the delete button failing is probably just a front‑end bug. -
When “Report” isn’t available in the menu
The Sora help docs describe reporting via the…menu (Report → choose a reason → submit), but they don’t cover cases where only Delete appears and Report is missing. [Blocking and reporting on Sora]
Because of that, there’s no documented in‑app workaround I can point you to. -
Next step: use the webform / Support
Since you can’t report it in‑product, the documented path is to use the content reporting webform and/or contact Support:- Go to the content reporting form: <https://openai.com/form/report-content/> [Reporting content]
- In the description, include:
- That this is Sora content,
- The item was canceled or policy‑blocked,
- The delete action fails and only shows “Delete” (no “Report”),
- Reloading the task shows “not found,” but the broken entry still appears in your library (if it does),
- Any relevant timestamps and screenshots.
You can also reach Support via the Help Center (AI Chat or phone) if you want more direct assistance. [Blocking and reporting on Sora]
