Your conversations should not be deleted automatically unless you delete them yourself or use features like Temporary Chats; however, the sidebar only shows a compact list of recent chats. Older conversations are still kept and can be retrieved via search or by opening them directly. [Older history]

Regarding search quality: the knowledge sources do not state that searching works better on mobile than on desktop. They describe the same basic behavior on both:

• On web: use the search icon or ctrl+k / cmd+k to search titles and content of all past conversations. [Search history]

The article does not mention any difference in effectiveness between mobile and desktop search.
