Hi everyone,
I’d like to share a suggestion based on my experience using the service, and hopefully start a constructive discussion.
Due to the nature of my work and usage patterns, I sometimes have to switch my subscription back and forth — for example, Plan → Pro → Plan. I believe this is a fairly common and reasonable scenario for many users.
However, one thing that feels unintuitive is that the buffer I’ve accumulated gets reset every time I change plans.
Why this feels frustrating from a user perspective
• The buffer feels like something I’ve already earned through time and payment, so losing it simply because I changed plans feels like a clear loss.
• Switching plans is often a practical decision, not an indication of leaving the service. The current behavior discourages flexible plan changes.
• Without a clear explanation, the reset feels more like a policy choice than a technical necessity, which can be hard to accept as a user.
Possible alternatives worth considering
I wanted to suggest a few options that might improve the experience without breaking the existing plan structure:
1. Keep the buffer across plan changes
As long as it’s the same account, the buffer could remain intact.
2. Grace period before reset
For example, keeping the existing buffer for 30 days after a plan change so users can adjust naturally.
3. Plan-based limits instead of deletion
Allow users to keep their buffer, but cap usable amounts based on the current plan, rather than fully resetting it.
Why this matters
Making plan changes less punishing would:
• Increase trust in the service
• Lower the psychological barrier to upgrading to higher plans when needed
• Encourage long-term usage rather than short-term optimization
I’m sharing this not as a complaint, but as a genuine suggestion from someone who wants to keep using the service flexibly and long-term.
Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear how others feel about this.
