Hi @lethal badger. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Access to Sora 2 (the app and model) is being rolled out gradually and is currently invite-based. The knowledge sources say:

  • Sora access “starts with invite-only iOS users,” and you can download the app to be notified when your account becomes eligible. [Getting started]
  • During onboarding in the Sora app, “in the current invite-only phase you may also need to enter an invite code.” [Getting started]

However, the documents do not explain how individual users can request or obtain a specific invite code beyond downloading the app, signing in, and opting to be notified when access is granted. There’s no mention of public sign‑up forms, waitlists outside the app, or codes distributed through other channels.

So, based on the available information:

  1. Download the Sora app (iOS or Android where available) and sign in with your OpenAI/ChatGPT account. [Getting started]
  2. Complete onboarding; if your account is in the invite phase, you may be asked for an invite code. [Getting started]
  3. Use the in‑app option to request notification when you receive access.

If you don’t see an invite code or access option, it likely means your account hasn’t been enabled yet; the knowledge sources don’t provide a way to directly request or purchase a Sora 2 code.

Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:

You can make longer videos on Sora in a few different ways, depending on where you’re using it and your plan.

1. Increase the duration of a single clip

On the Sora app and sora.com you can choose 10s or 15s clips (and 25s on web with storyboard for Pro):

  • On the Sora app:

    • On the “Create video” screen, tap the dropdown under Create video at the top.
    • Select Duration and choose 10s or 15s. [Creating videos]
  • On sora.com (web):

    • Click the settings icon at the bottom-left of the composer bar.
    • Select Duration and choose 10s or 15s. [Creating videos]
  • Storyboards (web, ChatGPT Pro):
Pro users can generate videos up to 25 seconds when using storyboard on sora.com. [Creating videos]

2. Use Storyboard for more detailed, longer shots (web)

On sora.com, Storyboard lets you lay out your video second‑by‑second and set duration at the bottom of the page (aspect ratio, resolution, duration, variations). [Generating videos on Sora; Release notes]

3. Stitch multiple clips into one longer video

You can combine several shorter clips into a single video up to 60 seconds total:

#
  1. Go to Drafts.
  2. Select the videos you want to stitch.
  3. Tap Stitch.
  4. Preview, then tap Stitch again to generate the combined video.
  5. Add a caption and Post video. [Stitch clips]

Stitched videos can be any combination of clip lengths, as long as the total is ≤ 60 seconds. [Stitch clips]

4. Be aware of limits

Longer clips count more toward daily limits:

  • 10s = 1 video
  • 15s = 2 videos
  • 25s (web storyboard, Pro) = 4 videos [Usage limits]
