Hi @empty stag. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

I'm sorry, but according to the latest official information, the Sora app and Sora 2 are only available in a limited set of countries: United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan. Norway is not currently supported for Sora app or Sora 2 access, so even with an invite code, you won't be able to use the app from Norway. Additionally, the Sora app is not available on Android devices yet—it's currently only on iOS, with Android support planned for the future but not yet released. You can download the app to be notified when your account or region becomes eligible, but for now, access is restricted by both country and device type Getting started with the Sora app | Sora App and Sora 2 - Supported Countries.

In summary:

  • Sora 2 is not available in Norway yet.
  • The Sora app is not available for Samsung/Android devices at this time.
  • Even with an invite code, you cannot use Sora 2 unless both your country and device are supported.

I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not provide any specific timeline or date for when Sora 2 or the Sora app will become available in Norway or on Android devices like Samsung. The official documentation only states that availability will expand over time and that you can download the app to be notified when your account or region becomes eligible, but no further details or schedules are given Getting started with the Sora app | Sora App and Sora 2 - Supported Countries.

If you want updates, it's best to sign up for notifications in the app or follow OpenAI’s official announcements.

Using a VPN to access OpenAI services, including Sora, from an unsupported country is not allowed. OpenAI’s policies clearly state that accessing or offering access to their services outside of the officially supported countries and territories may result in your account being blocked or suspended Sora App and Sora 2 - Supported Countries | OpenAI Services Agreement.

So, even if you use a VPN, it would be a violation of OpenAI’s terms of service.

Thank you for your understanding. At this time, there is no official information or timeline available in the knowledge sources about when Sora 2 or the Sora app will be available in Norway. The best approach is to wait for official updates from OpenAI and sign up for notifications if possible. If you have any other questions about OpenAI services, feel free to ask!
