Is there a Sora app? If so where can I find it? I’m on iOS 26.

Hi @pure vapor. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Yes, there is a Sora app available for iOS. The Sora app allows you to create short videos with synchronized audio using OpenAI’s Sora 2 model. You can download the Sora app on iOS and sign in with your OpenAI account. However, access is currently limited: the app is in an invite-only phase, and you may need to request access or enter an invite code during onboarding. The app is only available in the US and Canada at this time, and not in other regions yet. There is no mention of specific compatibility with "iOS 26," but the app is available for iOS devices in supported regions.

To get started:

  1. Download the Sora app from the iOS App Store (if you are in the US or Canada).
  2. Sign in with your OpenAI account.
  3. Follow the onboarding steps, which may include entering your birthday and an invite code.
  4. You can request to be notified when you receive access if you are not immediately eligible.

For more details and the latest updates, visit the official Sora app information page and OpenAI’s help documentation [https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12461230-sora-app-and-sora-2-supported-countries](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12461230-sora-app-and-sora-2-supported-countries).

Note: The Sora app is not available on Android, and access outside the US and Canada is not supported at this time. If you are not in a supported country, you will not be able to download or use the app yet.

Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:

Using a VPN to appear as if you are in the US will not allow you to access or download the Sora app if your Apple ID or device region is not actually set to the US or Canada. According to OpenAI, access to the Sora app and Sora 2 is currently only available in the US and Canada, and availability is determined by your actual region, not just your IP address. If you are outside these countries, even with a VPN, you will not be able to access the app. This is a known limitation and is not bypassed by VPN usage Getting started with the Sora app Sora App and Sora 2 - Supported Countries.

If you are not physically located in the US or Canada, or your device/App Store region is not set to one of these countries, you will see the "not available in your region" message. There is currently no official workaround for this restriction.
