Hi @mighty flame. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

It sounds like your prompt was blocked because it references "SpongeBob," which is a copyrighted character and brand. OpenAI’s policies restrict generating content that is similar to, or could be confused with, third-party intellectual property—especially well-known characters, names, or likenesses—without authorization. This is to avoid copyright infringement and impersonation issues. Prompts that ask for content based on copyrighted characters (like "SpongeBob analog horror") are likely to be flagged or blocked by the system for this reason Building and publishing a GPT.

There isn’t a guaranteed way to “get it to work” if your request is fundamentally about generating content similar to or based on copyrighted material. OpenAI’s guardrails are designed to prevent this kind of use, and trying to circumvent them would violate the Usage Policies.

If you want to explore analog horror concepts, you could try using more generic prompts that do not reference specific copyrighted characters or brands. For example, you might ask for “an analog horror story set in an underwater city” or “analog horror involving a cheerful cartoon character in a surreal setting,” without naming or directly referencing “SpongeBob” or any other protected property. This approach is more likely to comply with OpenAI’s content policies and avoid being blocked Why Was My ChatGPT Prompt Blocked?.
