I’ve been working on ClipFactory — an AI-powered tool that takes long-form videos (podcasts, interviews, webinars, livestreams) and automatically turns them into short, viral-ready clips for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

🔑 How it works:
• Upload your video → AI finds the best moments.
• Each clip gets an AI “Virality Score” out of 100, so you know which ones are most likely to perform.
• Captions, vertical crops, and brand kits are added automatically.

Instead of spending hours editing, creators and businesses can repurpose content in minutes.

We’re in Beta right now (exports not live yet), but you can try the workflow here:

Would love feedback from the community — especially around the virality scoring idea and how useful it feels in practice. 🙌

First feedback. Really important minor thing, not that much effort, will make a big difference:
Access my camera on my phone and record a clip straight in the app.

First thing I wanted to do when testing. A couple of extra clicks now, no big deal, but THAT is the sort of thing that's going to affect the way people feel about your app.

#

Ok, and my video upload got stuck at 20% MAJOR ISSUE this will drive most people away

#

Ok, it uploaded in the end, but that stuck progress bar, man.. I think you should at least do a little JavaScript to make it update gradually instead of reflecting server updates directly

#

Ok, a couple more issues. All my clips were rated 1. Maybe I'm just not made for tiktok. Or maybe it's on a scale of 0 to 1 and all I need to do is put myself out there and I'll be an instant celebrity.

The point is: I didn't have a clear sense of what to do when I saw that screen. I thought about recording another clip in an outrageous, comical voice, but I wasn't sure that would work.

#

Maybe if all the numbers weren't rounded to 1 I'd have more information to make a decision

#

Maybe if there were multiple metrics to pay attention to, so I could experiment and make decisions

#

I think I'd find the experience much more engaging with multiple metrics

#

And lots of information about what they mean

#

I dread having to flick between apps, and further experimentation world just be shooting in the dark

I realise you're just beta now, so you probably later intend to conduct some exploration into the kind of user experience you want. But I'd recommend thinking about WHAT you want the user to experience.

For example, think of the user journey as an arc. There has to be a climax at the end. And right now, your climax is showing me part of a video clip I've already seen. Kind of disappointing.

There's part of me thinking "yeah this could be useful". But the kid inside me isn't impressed.

SOME sort of payoff at the end would be invaluable. Even if it was just an ai generated analysis of the video clip and why it's good or not. What to look for.

#

Another thing, I was disappointed to discover the entire engine runs only on text transcription. It is a little depressing to think I could accomplish the whole thing with a chatGPT prompt.

I realise the technologies are still evolving, but it would be nice to have even just image captures of the video being processed.

But, in the mean time, I recommend you don't ADVERTISE that it's just text under the hood.

#

And then there's the actual end of the experience itself, as it is. Ok, so video export is disabled for now, fair enough, but it tells me there's preview and I can't find it.

This transformers my experience of the thing from wow, cool thing, check it out - to - ah so they're still in the process of building something.

#

You're probably aware of this issue, but I'd recommend you lean more towards finalising a product with wow factor instead of publicity. One big push, and you could have something that will really impress people

#

Another thing I'd appreciate at this beta stage is to understand the directions you are thinking of expanding, like what future features you have in mind.

And maybe a frequently updated 'what's new' section to keep me coming back

#

Also I'm not crazy about the name. Factories make me think of grey buildings, or game builder software of the 90s.
