Bug Report: “Error preparing download” when trying to download newly generated videos from Sora
`Steps to Reproduce`

Consistently receiving the error message “Error preparing download” when trying to download newly generated videos from Sora. This issue affects all videos created after 5:00 PM on September 23, 2025. Videos generated before that time can still be downloaded successfully.

`Expected Result`

Videos can be downloaded successfully.

`Actual Result`

Error message “Error preparing download”

`Environment`

Device: Windows 10 Pro; Browsers tested: Google Chrome Version 140.0.7339.185, Microsoft Edge; The issue occurs across multiple browsers and after clearing cache/cookies. No VPN/proxy. Affected videos are small (e.g., 5 seconds, well below 512 MB).

Hello, I’ve had the same problem for 3 days now... "Error preparing download" during download process with Sora with chatGPT Plus account. What's wrong ?

Yes I have been having the same problem for 3 or 4 days. Open Ali should compensate us for a few extra days because of this error. My work is getting compromised

But what you can do to bypass this isue (it works for me) : Right clic on your video in full screen and "Save video as ..." (with Chrome menu)
