How do I access codex from the mobile app? Pretty simple request. I don't see it on my app

Hi @amber oriole. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

It’s available, but it may not be obvious in the UI yet.

  • Codex is included with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise plans, and can be used “even from the ChatGPT iOS app.” [Using Codex; Business notes]
  • On mobile, tools have been consolidated into the new Skills menu (sliders‑style icon) instead of separate tool icons. Open the composer, tap the sliders icon, then look for Codex or coding tools there. [Release notes]

If you still don’t see Codex:

  • Make sure your plan is eligible (Plus/Pro/Business/Edu/Enterprise). [Using Codex]
  • Update the ChatGPT app to the latest version.
  • Codex also works via other entry points if mobile access isn’t visible yet: Codex web (requires connecting GitHub), Codex CLI, or the IDE extension—sign in with your ChatGPT account. [Getting started; Enterprise/Edu notes]

If none of the above surfaces it, I’m sorry—our knowledge sources don’t provide exact step-by-step mobile screenshots or a guaranteed rollout status by region/plan. In that case, try Codex via web/CLI/IDE and check back after an app update. [Getting started]

@royal thunder I'm on Android, I have Plus (Codex is accessible on PC for me)

Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:

Thanks for confirming you’re on Android and have Plus.

What the sources say for mobile access:

  • Codex is included with Plus (and higher) and is available “even from the ChatGPT iOS app.” However, there’s no explicit Android-specific UI walkthrough or screenshots in the sources. [Using Codex; Business release notes]

Given that:

  • I’m sorry, but the knowledge sources do not provide step-by-step instructions for accessing Codex specifically in the Android app UI, nor do they confirm that the Codex entry point has rolled out on Android. [Using Codex]

Practical next steps you can use today:

Also make sure:

  • Your Android app is up to date (new features often require the latest build, and some features roll out gradually). The sources mention mobile availability generally and iOS specifically, but not Android parity. [Using Codex; Enterprise/Edu release notes]

If you’d like, share your Android app version and I can cross-check if the sources mention anything tied to that version.
