Ever since the GPT-5 roll out & the switch to only had Advanced Voice Mode, Standard Voice Mode hasn’t been working, even after OpenAI claimed to have brought it back, I’ve done every trouble shooting step they said to, along with sent screen recordings of the issues I’m having. & they have yet to do anything on their end. I open Standard Voice Mode, the indicator moves like it hears me but either A. Doesn’t respond or B. Mishears what I say & it’s usually some sort of YouTube outro in place of what I actually said, which is nothing close to what I say. How can I fix this? I’ve done everything.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Standard Voice Mode after the GPT-5 rollout. According to the latest official updates, OpenAI initially planned to retire Standard Voice Mode and move all users to Advanced Voice Mode. However, after receiving user feedback, they decided to keep Standard Voice available while they address issues and feedback related to Advanced Voice Mode. They have acknowledged that some users find Standard Voice special and are working to make the transition smoother, with more improvements promised soon. However, there is no detailed troubleshooting guidance or fix for persistent issues with Standard Voice Mode in the knowledge sources provided.

Known issues with voice modes include occasional mishearing, hallucinations (such as unintended sounds or gibberish), and rare cases where the model produces unrelated audio like music or ad-like content. OpenAI is aware of these problems and is actively investigating them, but there is no user-side fix beyond standard troubleshooting steps (which you’ve already tried) at this time. They recommend staying tuned for further updates as improvements are rolled out to both Advanced and Standard Voice Modes. If you continue to experience issues, the best course of action is to keep your app updated and monitor official release notes for fixes or additional guidance as they become available. Unfortunately, the knowledge sources do not provide a specific solution for your current issue beyond what you have already attempted ChatGPT Voice UpdateVoice Mode FAQ.

If you have already contacted support and provided recordings, it may take some time for them to address your case, especially as they work on broader improvements to the voice experience.
