Open a Voice Chat in ChatGPT.
-
Speak normally (no skipping/interruptions).
-
Within a few minutes, one of three bugs happens:
- My words are transcribed as unrelated “YouTube outro” phrases I never said.
- My words are not transcribed at all (silence).
- ChatGPT hangs in an infinite “thinking” loop and never responds.
- Leaving/rejoining or refreshing the browser does not fix the issue.
ChatGPT should transcribe my voice accurately and consistently, and allow me to hold a normal, sustained Voice Chat conversation without hallucinated text, dropouts, or loops.
Spoken input is often replaced with unrelated canned text (e.g., “Like, share, and subscribe!” or “I hope you enjoyed this video, and I’ll see you in the next one.”).
Sometimes my words register on screen but no transcript is passed through, resulting in silence.
Sometimes the session hangs in a permanent “thinking” state, requiring me to end the call.
Bug occurs consistently within a few minutes of starting a Voice Chat.
