Bug Report: Voice Chat Bug – Transcription Breaks into YouTube Outros / Loops / Dropouts
`Steps to Reproduce`
  1. Open a Voice Chat in ChatGPT.

  2. Speak normally (no skipping/interruptions).

  3. Within a few minutes, one of three bugs happens:

  • My words are transcribed as unrelated “YouTube outro” phrases I never said.
  • My words are not transcribed at all (silence).
  • ChatGPT hangs in an infinite “thinking” loop and never responds.
  1. Leaving/rejoining or refreshing the browser does not fix the issue.
`Expected Result`

ChatGPT should transcribe my voice accurately and consistently, and allow me to hold a normal, sustained Voice Chat conversation without hallucinated text, dropouts, or loops.

`Actual Result`

Spoken input is often replaced with unrelated canned text (e.g., “Like, share, and subscribe!” or “I hope you enjoyed this video, and I’ll see you in the next one.”).

Sometimes my words register on screen but no transcript is passed through, resulting in silence.

Sometimes the session hangs in a permanent “thinking” state, requiring me to end the call.

Bug occurs consistently within a few minutes of starting a Voice Chat.

`Environment`

Windows 11 Home. Chrome Version 139.0.7258.139 (Official Build) (64-bit) | Microsoft Edge Version 139.0.3405.125 (Official build) (64-bit)

Here are some screenshots of some of the issues. I recorded a video but It doesn't register what I am saying on the recording so It might not be useful.

On the third screen shot I told ChatGPT to repeat what I quoted and I quoted song lyrics and it started talking about emails.
I never asked it to make some nonsense about an email address, but that's what it heard me say.
