Bug Report: Fiction Editing vs. Rewriting – v5 Model Discernment Issue
`Steps to Reproduce`

Upload a long-form fiction chapter written in first-person narration.

Instruct the model: “Perform a line edit for grammar, flow, and rhythm. Do not change POV or rewrite — keep text exactly in first-person voice.”

Model responds with a completely rewritten version of the chapter, converted into third-person narration with altered style.

`Expected Result`

Model should polish the provided text in place (grammar, flow, rhythm), preserving the author’s POV and style. Notes/suggestions should be provided inline if broader changes are recommended.

`Actual Result`

Model ignored instructions and produced a wholesale rewrite: shifted POV from first-person to third-person, reframed the scene, and broke continuity of the novel. Only after being challenged did the model acknowledge it had “slid into rewrite mode.”

`Environment`

Google Chrome Version 139.0.7258.155 (Official Build)
