Bug Report: Canvas Bug — Chat Responses Overwriting Existing Documents
`Steps to Reproduce`

Steps to Reproduce:

Open a canvas/document in ChatGPT.

Begin writing your own content in the document.

Ask ChatGPT a separate question in the chat, unrelated to the doc content.

Instead of responding in the chat, ChatGPT injects the answer into the canvas, replacing or altering existing text.

`Expected Result`

ChatGPT should always respond in the chat unless explicitly instructed to edit the document. My work in the document should never be overwritten unless I request it.

`Actual Result`

Responses are routed into the open canvas without permission.

Content I’ve written in the document gets deleted or replaced.

This makes it impossible to safely work on long-form writing while asking clarifying questions.
