I was using gpt5 pro to elaborate on a mildly complex question which included analyzing a couple files and it got stuck for over a hour thinking at which point I manually stopped and relaunched it but then again no results for over 7 hours so then I tried to stop it but it won’t let me stop it. Only way for me to get a new answer is edit the previous prompt and “resend” from there. Visually I see the stop button instead of the send button even if it is not thinking anymore and the answer is ther
It shouldn’t take that long to think it was obviously stuck but the whole conversation for me has become unusable now because I can no longer submit new prompt because the stop button stays there, no matter how many times I click on it.
I tried switching models to get an answer by editing the previous prompt I sent. That helped in at least make it generate an actual answer but I cannot send new prompts because the stop button I stuck there.
No matter which platform, both browser and iOS App.
The stop button got stuck
Browser Safari, iOS App, ChatGPT Mac App.
