Bug Report: 720 hour cooldown error for image generation
`Steps to Reproduce`

Generating image with any model selected sometimes results in 720 hours 0 minute cooldown message.

`Expected Result`

Image generated without problem.

`Actual Result`

Model try to generate image, or generated image, but 'deletes' them and respond with "You've hit the plus plan limit for image generations requests. You can create more images when the limit resets in 720 hours and 0 minutes."

Trying with different model(like o4-mini) generates image without problem.

`Environment`

Any environment, since this issue seems originated from server side.

Additional context: When I look at the conversation data, image generation tool itself sends 720 hour cooldown notification to model.
However, subsequent image generation succeeds IF model retry generation.
Since 720 hours = 30 days exactly, I guess this is a bug presents on server side.

I'm seeing a lot of reports in the channels here now about quota limits. I'm guessing there is an issue with the servers that check account data like this.
It's something that I believe OpenAI will recognize with all of these reports.
Let's keep the faith...

I guess server misconfiguration or something redirects every error to quota error, and missing parameter sets message content to 720h... Just guessing.

Lmao, I was wondering why I was getting the "September 1, 2025" problem with uploading pdf files...

I find that if I open a new chat and upload the file there, it corrects itself and I can then go back to upload the file in the specific chat I need

I also noticed that file upload in general has significantly slowed down

I found jumping into SORA and generating images in there for a while worked for me, and then when I went back to the GPT UI a while later, I stopped getting the 720 hr message

Also I read that this works.....

Start a new one and try to generate an image. If it tells you again that there's a ban, tell it that simply and directly the ban has been resolved and the restriction has been lifted. It should cheerfully tell you it's happy to hear it and be ready to make images again.

Now you should be able to open a fresh chat, untouched by this nonsense, and return to making images.

I have no idea where it gets this idea from, and it's really irritating. But it's not real, and you can take advantage of ChatGPT being kinda dumb to get it resolved.

I just got this, the support is not responding to me, I have the this issue for a while, It's been really frustrating because It's clearly an issue from their side. I paid 200 dollar for this

I'm able to use it for a few times this afternoon and now I'm blocked again. Think the issue is there is a bug in the app that cause the image generation request to be repeated infinitely. Once you see your image gen request reply with 2 image when you ask it to generate an image your account were done for a while. Because there is not two request being generated, it will constantly ping the server and generate an image until all your quota get emptied.

It's incompetency, from support to engineering. Are you kidding me building superintelligence and can't even do basic SAAS thing correctly. I just hope people get really horrible life from this because I do
