Bug Report: User silenced for “typing too fast” – forum hold not lifted after 10+ days
`Steps to Reproduce`

Posted a long message in the OpenAI Developer Forum

Received an automated temporary hold due to “fast posting” as a new user

Waited over 10 days with no response from staff

Reached Trust Level 1 and replied to clarify the situation (no reaction)

Also sent a Modmail message (no reply)

Still fully silenced across the forum

`Expected Result`

After a reasonable review time (1–3 days), either:
– the post is approved
– or the user receives a response with next steps / feedback
Especially once the trust level has increased.

  • Forum-Account: KreativesChaos
`Actual Result`

User remains silenced after more than 10 days, with no update, no moderation contact, and no opportunity to resubmit the post in improved format (e.g. using PDF attachment now available).
User also shows a status: “New user typed too fast” – despite now being Trust Level 1 and active for 10+ days.

I’m happy to repost the original message with a cleaner format and attached PDF if that avoids future issues.
I’d just love to participate again – creatively and constructively. 😊

`Environment`

Windows 10, Chrome (Version 138.0.7204.184), OpenAI Developer Forum via Browser

Hi. I'm a developer too and had a similar experience. Someone didn't like my long and detailed question so they community-reported it and I was muted for almost two weeks until a mod processed it.

That forum is official, this one is not, but it's ok to share the experience here. The point though, is that there's no connection between mods here and there, so the problem for either of us can't be addressed from a post here.

All I can say is, wait and trust that one of the 25 mods there will eventually process the issue.

I don't remember the Discourse settings but the automated "posting too fast" mute should only be for some minutes or days. Sorry, it smells like the might have been several posts of the same material. That's a no-no in every forum. Don't do that.

For now, just wait it out. 🫤

Hi CaptainStarbuck,
thank you for your response!

I didn’t know that the forum and the Discord aren’t directly connected — I had just hoped they might be. Sorry about that.

Regarding your assumption: I was actually automatically suspended right after my very first post in the forum. So there was no topic spam or multiple posts with similar content — just one long, detailed message.

Still, thanks for sharing your perspective — it helps to know that others have had similar experiences. I’ll just keep hoping for now.
