Basically, the bug occured around July 17th 2025, 9:50 AM (PHT) using an Android in ChatGPT App version 1.2025.189 before. The bug is about the editing messages on the ChatGPT App being broken as it duplicated the original message with the edited message rather than change the original message to the edited message by restarting. It basically duplicated rather than restarting. The conversation itself was also tested on the ChatGPT Website and tried the same thing of editing the message, and the website restarted the original message and replaced the original with the edited message. But on the app, it's still an issue of editing messages not restarting and hasn't been resolved yet and it's an issue for me when I made a mistake and decided to edit the message, only for the mistaken message to be split into two with the edited message.

Yes, the app is updated to the newest version 1.2025.196 of the app as of now and it's still not working even I tried reinstalling it, it's still the same result, it doesn't work

The issue occurs every message and conversation in the app with the version 1.2025.196 but the ChatGPT Website is unaffected, only the app.
And, I did some 3 steps such as:
Make sure your Android system software is also fully updated.
Log out of your ChatGPT account in the app and log back in.
If possible, try editing a message in a new, empty conversation and let me know if the duplication still happens.
My response:
-
My Android is in the lastest software update version and it's still not working.
-
I tried logging out and logging back in and it still doesn't work either.
-
Even editing a message in a new freshly made conversation and did some testing and it still doesn't work, the editing messages is still broken and bugged.
I did all those 3 steps and it's still an issue unfortunately with the newest ChatGPT App version 1.2025.196 on the Android.
