Bug Report: No Scrollbar in ChatGPT Projects Panel — Chats Only Viewable by Zooming Out (Ongoing UI Bug)
`Steps to Reproduce`

Open ChatGPT via browser (chat.openai.com).

Go to any Project with many saved chats.

Try scrolling the chat list using mouse, trackpad, arrow keys, or scrollbar.

Observe that the list is not scrollable.

Zoom out the browser (to 30–50%) — more chats become visible.

`Expected Result`

The chat list inside a Project should be scrollable vertically using mouse, trackpad, or keyboard, and a scrollbar should be visible when the content exceeds screen height.

`Actual Result`

Only the chats that fit on screen are visible. No scrollbar appears. Scrolling via mouse or keyboard does not work. Zooming out allows viewing more chats, which confirms that more content exists but is inaccessible.

OS: Zorin OS Pro 17.3 (Linux), Browsers: Firefox 140.0, Brave 1.79.126

Just a quick note — the scrollbar is now showing up in Projects, and I’m able to scroll through it normally this morning. Looks like it's working again.

@faint haven You're right, I missed some of the earlier messages — thanks for the nudge. Was just going by what I saw on my end. All good now.

I just wanted to add that the system seems to be experiencing broader instability.
Since June 27 KST, users (including Plus users) have been reporting a wide range of issues:

Very slow or incomplete generations

Commands being ignored (e.g., when uploading or editing project files)

Abrupt output cutoffs and shorter replies

Memory performance drop after adding custom instructions

Repeated or duplicated image generations

Canvas auto-creating new sessions unintentionally

Ongoing file upload issues on the project tab (especially from mobile)

We understand updates are in progress, but the cumulative effect is making the experience quite difficult.
Just wanted to report this in case it helps the team pinpoint what’s going on. Thanks for your hard work.

Thanks for adding that—really helpful context. I suspected this scrollbar issue might be part of a broader instability, and your list of symptoms (especially project-related bugs and file upload failures) seems to align with what I’ve been experiencing.

Appreciate you sharing this. Hopefully the team can correlate these patterns and push a fix soon. If I notice any other UI anomalies beyond the scrollbar problem, I’ll report them here too.

Um, not at all. The issue with scrollbars was a simple case of someone making an undocumented change in the ChatGPT user interface software, breaking the product, and no one doing any form of quality assurance.
