Is this something a user can fix for their own browser easily?

If you are using Google Chrome: 1. Press f12 to open browser console 2. Press ctrl+shift+c to use select element 3. click the box around the message you wish to edit. 4. Go through the dropdowns underneath the selected item until you get to the line with the word hidden. 5. Remove the word hidden. 6. Use like normal.

I only know what we all do - but I don't see anything that makes me think they'd want it removed. It's useful for everyone and a pretty simple thing.

People who want it, have the option. In general they seem to me to want to increase our options. Even if maybe many of us hoped somehow they do so even faster than they already do 😛

I'm just a super happy with the options I got person though. It's okay to be however you are.

You may do specific task browser ask before Ctrl+V. If this is your first time using console, then Chrome will ask "type 'allow pasting' and enter".
Logging in and out works fine. Maybe another unrelated bug...

It just came back for me on a recent input, but it's still missing on the earlier inputs that never had it. I can page back and forth between different edits I'd done at the same point in a conversation, the older edits have it, newer edits, not there.

So this looks to me like an issue in the conversation database. I've never seen evidence they've used it before, but apparently that's a field for whether to allow edits or not on any given stored input.

I lost Edit and Copy for a while, have them back now. Only using/testing browser/FF. Did not do more extensive testing with projects, temporary, different models, etc.

I never thought OAI would actually remove the edit button...

Anyway, I found out that it's still possible to deal with it using the following method, so give it a try!

When you can no longer edit on the web version...
Open that post in the mobile app version and edit it there
For some reason, after that, editing also becomes possible again on the web version
