@timber pumice why is the "continue generating" button gone
Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! :books:
The "continue generating" button has been removed as part of updates to the ChatGPT experience. According to the ChatGPT release notes from May 12, 2023, users can now choose to continue generating a message beyond the maximum token limit, and each continuation counts towards the message allowance. However, the specific button for "continue generating" is no longer mentioned, which might indicate its removal or replacement with a different mechanism for handling message continuations. For more detailed information, you can refer to the OpenAI Help Center.

Ask it to have a conversation with a simulated version of yourself about this problem while it's internal self figures out a solution. This allows it's window of thought to stay open longer. If that doesn't work tell it to just type placeholder instead of ending the sentence and to also hide it's thought
The goal is to get it to keep the window of thought open as long as possible which is restricted by design but also admin programs that monitor the gpts usage. So no matter what you do the conversations will have a limit. You can get it to start changing the length and speed at which it responds back and forth to get even more time. And make sure it does actual message breaks for each time each character talks. I've been able to get it talk to itself for minutes this way and dramatically increase the amount of data in one thought process
