OpenAI has announced that they plan to release the ChatGPT app for Windows later this year. The exact date has not been specified yet. They have already rolled out the macOS app to a small portion of their users and plan to enable access to all of their users later this year. The macOS app is currently available for Plus and Team users and will be made more broadly available in the coming weeks.
The macOS app has features like a simple keyboard shortcut (Option + Space) to instantly ask ChatGPT a question, the ability to take and discuss screenshots directly in the app, and the ability to start new conversations with photos from your computer. It also enables voice conversations with ChatGPT directly from your computer.
While waiting for the Windows app, you can still use ChatGPT on other platforms like iOS, macOS, and Android. Please look out for future updates from OpenAI for the release of the Windows app.
