ChatGPT shared link: (optional)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. On MacOS open an any Office application (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  2. Copy text from office app, and paste into MacOS ChatGPT app. For example writing a new email in Outlook and copy text into ChatGPT MacOS app for rephrases.

Expected result:
Copied text pasted into ChatGPT

Actual result:
Image pasted as a screenshot of selected text, instead of text itself.

+1 - this is annoying if you want to modify the paste output in the prompt window.

I found a workaround if you paste it into notepad or something else that is completely textbased with no formatting. Terminal window.. even the browser address bar sometimes lol

I afraid it is not a bug but a feature. You can use Command + Option + Shift + V shortcut to paste unformatted text. I just personally use Paste app that solves this problem as well

I'd happy if Command + Option + Shift + V worked, but it is not, so it seems still a bug not a feature. There was also a long running bug where the model actually was not seeing text in such images, but it seems fixed now, so at least somehow better then it was before
