If relevant and not already provided, we recommend adding a link to the associated ChatGPT conversation and uploading any relevant images here for easier troubleshooting.
This seems to be a widespread problem.
It's very annoying!
I tested this on an old chat, and the problem is there too.
same problem here, damn
Yeah I am also affected.
Same problem.

that's very frustrating
Service completely unusable. one up to multiple captchas for every followup.
Yea, hope they fix it soon
Is OpenAI doing this because they want us to 'act more human-like'? If not, I hope they fix it soon.
If we keep solving these puzzles over and over, we'll end up becoming something other than human.
Ya this just started happening for me this morning.
Me too, it’s just a popup for me saying something went wrong, I can’t even send a single prompt
This has been driving me absolutely nuts today. I am tired of having to rotate an object every single time I put anything into ChatGPT.
Difficult to use like this in a professional setting
It's also objectively wrong sometimes when I did the rotation correctly.
just switch service
Mine went a step further: Didn't show the correct rotation as an option. 😂
@ionic basin omg, your pfp takes me back to the good old days of WCIII
I'd go as far as to say "Extremely impractical to the point of being essentially impossible to use in a professional setting".
Very annying to see i'm not humain
I can't even load the thing...
That's absolutely right. My work has come to a complete standstill too.
thats an understatement. its not impractical, its unusable. I had to solve 5 captchas in a row for 1 question
Maybe we were all replaced by Synths overnight and ChatGPT can tell
Wow that is ANNOYING. Wonder why you have to do so many, i only need to do one....
I thought the AI uprising would be more "SkyNet" and less "Endless Captchas"
I tried to click them trhough very fast :/
yeah it only asked me for one every time i tried to make something but now its asking for 4
I am getting the same error and the information on how to contact support is outdated... very bad experience
i hope it gets fixed soon cause im not gonna keep paying for a service that i cant use
That's because they use automated responses.
Ironic.
Perhaps this was all just a ploy to trick tons of us into joining their Discord in order to complain 🤔
Yes, do it
Does anyone from Open AI actually check the Bug report channel and do anything?
If Skynet starts asking for reCAPTCHA, it would be a great payoff to that foreshadowing...
Same trouble
Captcha ask me every my request message in chat
Guys, I just had to go through 7 captchas for one question
but are there alternatives that can be taken seriously? (at least on gpt 3.5 level)
does it have rate limits? I use gpt a lot.
I find it very odd a company as big of OpenAI would release an update without fully testing it. Clearly they made an update and it wasn't tested..
same bug.
I feel like today is undoubtedly going to end up in some YouTube compilation of Tech Blunders at some point in the future.
Claude has poor understanding of some python libraries though, which is why I prefer GPT over Claude when using python, sometimes js as well
They are all still in bed over in the US.. they won't be up for another few hours.
Imagine waking up to 1000's of Bug reports, The Devs and QA's pointing fingers at who's fault it is... gonna be a fun Monday morning for somone in Open AI
I use Gemini PRO with GPT plus
Gemini is the worst thing i've ever used. Can't even get basic quesitons correct.
tried gemini, it was terrible
My work comps me for Gemini pro and GPT plus, can't complain
I use GPT for general aid and whatever, if python throws out some errors I upload the docs to gemini and ask for help debugging
otherwise gemini is garbage at creating code on its own
Are there any other AIs that can substitute for the 'GPTs' function? If so, I might switch over...
I've tried Claude, but like I said before the libraries I'm using with python and JS it has poor comprehension over, so it uses basic python and doesn't understand that it can't do that, even when I tell it the docs of the libraries I'm using
I tried that quite a while ago, but it was less usable than 3.5, so I ended up coming back to ChatGPT. I wonder if it's become smarter now?
TY for this actually. You're the best
I don't care if it's a widespread problem they need to fix it ASAP because it's not just a Firefox browser it's every browser including the desktop app
Only decent thing about Gemini though is it has a free API tier/usage with decent limits
I pay for my services I shouldn't be forced to pay extra or have to constantly verify
Though, I will say. ChatGPT seems to be working normal for me now
Thank you. I'll look into it.
Thank you guys for fixing it so fast
nope still happening for me
THE DESKTOP APP? 😂
im done bro im out
cancelling my sub now
my money going to arkose labs
gg
So stupid, just click the close button and it processes the prompt anyway
And kinda ironic... "its to stop webscraping" 😉
Have the same issue. Everitime CAPTCHA and sometime not 1 but a lot. Also regenerationg a prompt have the same effect. 😦
A fix has been confirmed. GG
link?
No, the reCAPTCHA stopped appearing in my environment.
how is that confirmed?
I had to restart my browser but yeah it stopped now
It's confirmed to have stopped for me
KK can confirm restart browser worked for me, thanks guys
Open Chrome's DevTools, right-click on the refresh button, and select 'Hard Reload'.
yups, all good. thanks
Yeah I would have canceled my entire service was chatGPT if they would have made this a permanent thing it was just too redundant into unnecessary to constantly need verification for every little request
they're gonna fix it and chuck it right back into the site
its a classic
Well, if you do that, it will become clear whether they were really human or not.
Haha, yes, I should change it at some point now that I am in these type of forums as well 😅
Is anyone still seeing this problem?
It's solved for me
I think they just needed some data to train their model 😄
There was an outage with a fraud vendor we work with.
I hope you've added a system that informs you of this and deactivates the checks when the connection to them is lost.
I'm actually shocked this wasn't the case already. I've never designed a system of ChatGPTs scale, but I would still have added such safety measures into the core of the service back in the design stage.
