By the time we deal with the sluggishness/mem leaks ( #1245409307575586960 message ), we may not want to regenerate anymore -- perhaps we already found the answer by Googling.
Why force folks to still regenerate, hiding the input box? Why not simply have the option to regenerate or continue with the input box?
This is essentially the equivalent to this RL scenario:

Me: Hello?
Friend: Hi, can you help me--
Me: Hold on, something's wrong, let me call you back
:5m later:

Friend: Hello?
Me: Sorry about that, where were we?
Friend: Ah no worries, I figured it out myself.
Me:
