#Custom GPT's are still telling me I need premium

I saw an announcement that custom GPT's are now functional for non-Plus users. I used to be a Plus subscriber, and back then I created several custom GPT's for my own use. When the announcement came out that they were now free, I tried refreshing but they still didn't appear. As of today, they're once again visible, but when I click one, it's still telling me I need Plus. I can still use them by loading an old conversation with it and chatting there, but that has always been the case.
Additionally, if I try to access the GPT Builder, it still says I don't have access to that feature, though this might be by design; I'm not sure whether creating GPT's is intended to be accessible to free users now.

Same with me

I should note that it works fine in the iOS app.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. As a Plus user, create a custom GPT and save it to your account.
  2. Chat with that GPT so a conversation is saved.
  3. Allow your Plus subscription to expire (or otherwise disable it; presumably OpenAI has some way to instantly do this on a testing account)
  4. Reopen the saved chat and continue the conversation.
  5. Start a new chat with the custom GPT.
  6. Go back to the saved chat and attempt to edit the custom GPT.

Expected result:

The custom GPT should continue working as normal, both when reopening the saved chat and when starting a new one. I'm not sure whether or not editing the GPT is supposed to work, but if I already have one created, I'd expect to be able to make changes without resubscribing.

Actual result:

Continuing the existing conversation will work, but starting a new one will prompt you to subscribe to Plus, despite that feature now being free. Editing the GPT doesn't work either, simply telling me "You do not currently have access to this feature".

That's not true; they work fine on iOS.

#

As well as when I continue an existing conversation.

that's the official info. you can continue old threads to a point but you cant alter the gpt or start new threads

That's how it used to be when free users couldn't use custom GPT's. But unless an OpenAI employee confirms what you said, I'm going to assume the article you linked is out of date.

Do you have a free account you can test with?
