[RESOLVED] Edit message button is missing in ChatGPT web UI | OpenAI | Page 1

Steps to reproduce:

In the web UI (https://chatgpt.com/): start a chat or open an existing one.
Send a prompt to ChatGPT.
Try to edit a message.

Expected result:
On hover, an edit button appears.

Actual result:
I cannot see an edit button anywhere in my prompts. Also, nothing appears on hover. A video is attached.

Additional information
I can edit the messages in my iOS app though (long tap, then "Edit" appears). But looks like messages in the web UI are not editable anymore (at least for me).

Browser: Chrome latest version (125.0.6422.60)
OS: macOS 14.3.1 (Intel)

[RESOLVED] Edit message button is missing in ChatGPT web UI

Resolved: in my case, it was a Chrome extension that was hiding the Edit button. In adition, it was also hiding a preview chat in custom GPTs creation mode. The extension is Dark Mode: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/dark-mode-dark-reader-for/pjbgfifennfhnbkhoidkdchbflppjncb

I have reported a bug to the extension.
