#GPT (4, 4o) auto-pretranslates my voice in voice mode!

When I speak in French (for example) in voice mode, GPT pretranslates the text into English even before reaching the chat window. So the chat shows that I spoke in English, and GPT responds back in English.

Expected result: I speak in French, you answer me in french:

Had this issue with 4, having the exact issue with 4o.

Actual result:

  • I speak in a different language
  • It registers a perfect translation in the text chat in English instead
  • It responds back to me in English

It happens regularly, but not every single time. I have a normal accent in both languages. So, find this very confusing.

Happens in the iOS app, and now the Mac app as well.
