For better assistance from the community or an OpenAI team member, please follow the posting guidelines by clicking the button below.
do not tell me to go to your "help" page. I've been doing that for almost one year
Hey! If possible, can you edit your post to follow the bug report format? It will help give a little more detail about the issue that you're facing. You can view the format by clicking the "View posting guidelines" button above! Posts not following the format might get deleted unfortunately, so just a heads up!
awesome, so my complaint is that I don't get help for almost a year, getting nothing but AI responses in email and everywhere that have nothing to do with my issue and you do exactly that? I'm never getting help with my account am I?
I'm sorry, it's just that this channel is used for reporting bugs, so if you use the bug report format and describe what the issue is, someone may be better equipped to look into it.
Is this the issue you're referring to? #community-help message
I've been in that channel, i've sent emails, I use the every contact us page you have .. I've been having issues with my account for a year and all you can do is pass the buck?
why can't I get anyone to help me with my account?
literally noone despite reaching out for almost a year
this is b s and you know it .. please either help me, or get someone that will please. this is beyond unacceptable
I have two emails in my account and I'm trying to figure out the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub openAI benefits that MSoft keeps telling me to use a new account and email etc .. but it's the same email and account I already have with you
they tell me it's your problem
you don't answer a single thing on any channel in almost a year
and know that I've spoken to you, your only suggestion is to do what I just told you I've been doing for almost a year? what is that?
ALL I'M DOING IS ASKING FOR HELP
I need an escalation department immediately
Right, my link is to one of your messages in that channel, which looks like what you're talking about here. I was just confirming that's what you're talking about, not telling you to go to that channel! Sorry for the confusion there.
I'm just a ChatGPT user, so I can't get someone specific to look at this, I'm just offering a suggestion to hopefully make it easier for someone to look at and address this for you.
Is this an accurate summary of the issue so far?
- Made an OpenAI account with an email that's now inactive
- Added a second, active email to that OpenAI organization
- Signed up for Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub with 2nd email
- Unable to use OpenAI benefits because the OpenAI organization was started with the 1st email that's now inactive
Is this accurate? So you'd be hoping that someone would be able to change the organization's primary email on OpenAI to the active 2nd email address, to link the Founders Hub to your OpenAI organization?
they told me i needed a third email account and now I have a third email account .. my keymate memory and all my other paid subscriptions on top of openAI are jacked up because of this
So you have just the one email on the Founders Hub, but you have three on your OpenAI organization now, is that right? Did Microsoft or OpenAI tell you to add the 3rd email?
Unable to link Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub account to OpenAI account because the primary email on OpenAI is now inactive
Steps to reproduce:
- Signed up for OpenAI with 1st email, which is now inactive
- Added 2nd, active email to OpenAI organization
- Signed up for Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub with 2nd email
- Unable to use OpenAI benefits via Founders Hub because primary email on OpenAI is 1st inactive email
Expected result:
Ability to reassign the primary email on OpenAI organization to link to email on Founders Hub
Actual result:
Unable to change primary email, unable to use OpenAI benefits

Browser: Chrome
OS: Windows
@raven mountain ^ is this accurate? Just offering a possible post that follows the format.
Yes, and I don't understand the two emails on my account. The first email is not active so I put another one on my account and I thought it would be the same account but it's not? I don't understand that.
Email2 is an active email & is on the same account as MSoft, but under the admin email for MSoft, email3. MSoft is telling me to do everything email3 which would mean I would lose everything I have now that's associated with email1 (and email2 is in my openAI account. Is that correct?
If so how do I get as much as possible over to knew and what's the effect on my keymateAI memory?
So there are 2 emails on Microsoft, emails 2 and 3. Email 3 is the admin email, and email 2 is just part of the same organization?
And on OpenAI, there are 2 emails as well, emails 1 and 2. Email 1 is the admin email, and email 2 is part of the same organization?
Are you able to change the admin email on Microsoft at will? That is, if someone at OpenAI were able to change your OpenAI admin email to email 2, would you be able to change the admin email on Microsoft to email 2 as well?
If not, I'm assuming you'd need your OpenAI admin email to be email 3 as well? And I'm pretty sure but, when you say you "put another one on my [OpenAI] account", you're talking about your OpenAI organization on platform.openai.com, correct?
Yes
Yes
It is a global admin of the account but not the top admin that started it so I don't know if that matters.
I don't know ...
My concern is losing everything I've done over the past 1.5 years between openAI , chatGPT and keymateAI. I can't lose any of that data .. and I need to get the rest of my team onto an account together which is what I thought the point & purpose of the benefits.

are you still there?
no
Yes! I'm just trying to wrap my head around what a solution to this might look like if someone were able to help you.
It sounds like the problem is that it's not able to connect your Microsoft organization to your OpenAI organization. I assume they need to be linked by a common email address, and that's the issue at hand, because your OpenAI admin email is not the same as the Microsoft admin email.
Do you know for sure which of your Microsoft emails (email 2 or email 3) are the one you would need to be your OpenAI admin email for the connection to work?
that is what I understand
I don't know .. that's some answers I need
Microsoft would probably be the best resource to give you that first answer. Specifically:
- Between email 2 and email 3 on Microsoft, which email needs to be associated with an OpenAI account?
After that, you should probably verify what you need on OpenAI. Do you need a brand new account with either email 2 or email 3, or do you need to ask if it's possible to change your existing email 1 admin organization to be an email 2 or email 3 admin organization?
Either way on that, I think your first step will be to verify from Microsoft how they connect the Founders Hub to OpenAI. Unless you know already for sure some of the answers to these!
Did they verify whether it was email 2 or email 3 that needs to be used for the OpenAI link?
no
It might be worth asking them that specific question as a starting point, so that if someone from OpenAI is able to help with this, they know exactly which email address is supposed to be used to link the two services.
can you explain to me what the two emails in my account mean? apparantly it's not shared memory or conversations correct?
Are you talking about OpenAI? If so, do you mean that you have two ChatGPT accounts at chat.openai.com, or that you have an organization with two members in it at platform.openai.com?
to my understanding I have two chat accounts also
and if I delete the @ayanwellnes account I will lose all my chatgpt and keymate memory
Heads up, this channel is not private so you may want to delete the pic with personal info in it. But yes that looks like platform.openai.com.
So those are email 1 and email 2. Can you still sign in with both of those accounts separately, but it's just that the actual email account for email 1 is inactive now?
But in response to your question about organizations on the API and ChatGPT: they're not connected, no. Each OpenAI account signed in to ChatGPT will have its own chat history.
If you're using the Keymate GPT and some memory feature it has, that's also going to be associated on a per-account basis without connection to platform.openai.com.
How do I manage that?
Do you mean how do you manage Keymate memory? I'm not sure, Keymate is a 3rd party organization that made a GPT, not directly associated with OpenAI, so they could probably give you support on that.
I mean on the chatgpt account. I'm not able to do anything about the old email attached to all my stuff on there. it can't be transferred to another email?
That's not currently possible, no. https://help.openai.com/en/articles/4936827-how-to-change-your-email-address
how is that going to get fixed? I can't be the only person on the planet this is happening to and have the same quesitons

I think you should try asking Microsoft whether email 2 or email 3 needs to be linking to OpenAI for the Founders Hub stuff. As for having multiple OpenAI accounts: merging accounts or changing email addresses on accounts just aren't possible, but once you find out whether it's email 2 or email 3 on Microsoft, you should be able to get an OpenAI account set up that matches that, then hopefully they will link together successfully.
so i just spent an entire afternoon not getting anywhere because like i told you .. they tell me to come here .. you tell me to go there .. I am F'd in the middle. what's the point? elevate me to an escalation department this terrible
Earlier (here: #1235942689283899412 message) you mentioned that Microsoft has not yet verified for you which email (2 or 3) is to be used for the OpenAI benefits. Since it's probably based on shared email addresses, this is why I think this is the first thing that needs to be verified, and that verification would come from Microsoft.
And again, I'm just a ChatGPT user and server volunteer, so I'm unable to elevate you or connect you to anyone. I just think that in order to solve the Founders Hub trouble, you just need to first verify which account Microsoft is using as the basis for the OpenAI benefits.
