In the "File uploads FAQ" article (https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8555545-file-uploads-faq), in the "How are files vs chats retained?" section, it says "Files processed via ADA / Document Analysis, and when chatting with a custom GPT (not uploaded as knowledge in GPT config): Retained for a duration that varies based on your plan."

Is there anything specific published regarding the plan-specific durations of time for file retention? All I can find that seems relevant is on https://openai.com/chatgpt/pricing, where it says Plus has "Standard access" to ADA, Team has "Expanded access", and Enterprise has "Unlimited access". I'm assuming this corresponds, at least in part, to the file retention duration, but I can't find any specific times.

Do you have any insight on this?

Hi @wanton flax. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Based on the information provided in the knowledge sources, the retention period for files processed via ADA / Document Analysis, and when chatting with a custom GPT (not uploaded as knowledge in GPT config) is 3 hours source (https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8555545-file-uploads-faq#h_e64290512f). This is also confirmed in another source which states that files uploaded to Advanced Data Analysis are deleted within 3 hours source (https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8983762-how-do-i-delete-files-i-upload).

However, there is no specific information provided in the knowledge sources about plan-specific durations of time for file retention. The "Standard access", "Expanded access", and "Unlimited access" mentioned on the pricing page likely refer to the amount of usage or the number of files you can process, rather than the duration of file retention.

For more specific information about plan-specific file retention durations, you may need to contact OpenAI directly or refer to the specific terms of your plan.
