**Steps to reproduce:**
> 1. Upload photo on IOS app and select area to be inpainted
> 2. Add text for the change to be made

**Expected result:**
> An altered image within the inpaint area

**Actual result:**
> The exact same image, no matter how small or large the inpaint area, regardless of the prompt. It’s also creating multiple circles in one area if the inpaint area is smaller. The issue doesn’t occur on a desktop or iPhone Safari in desktop mode, but I don’t have the feature in the Safari mobile version of the website.

**Additional information**
> Browser: IOS App 1.2024.080 (24781)
> OS:```16.1.1

You can also check on the web frontend. Check if that feature is enabled in your account.

I don't see your problem, I tried it many times today and all worked fine for me

the brush is creating a mask. Dalle can only modify the image in that red portion. The rest remain unchanged.

true, this is very weird

#

can you show the prompt from before to after?

#

we can see there is a difference. so dalle recreates the image. and we can somewhat see it's using the mask, because the change is more important in the masked section. But here's the thing: dalle works with a seed and a prompt (+ a mask and a source image, when using the edit feature). If the prompt and the seed is identical, then it recreates roughly the exact same image.

#

(forgot to post this)

#

if I increase the tolerance a bit, we see the masked portion pretty well. it's actually a bit strange.

#

(to clarify, this is an image comparison app. the bottom part shows the pixels that are different. red means very different. blue means different but under the tolerance value. black means 100% identical pixels)

#

it would work better with the original image (without the selection) and the modified image

#

but the important part is the prompt. if ChatGPT sent the exact same prompt to dalle, then dalle might recreate exactly the same picture.

#

when using the DALL·E editor, the same seed is used.
