ChatGPT shared link: https://chat.openai.com/share/50173a56-628b-4963-a4df-1bc88b194125

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Ask ChatGPT a question

Expected result:
A full response

Actual result:
Partial response then network error

Additional information
Browser: Edge
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Network Speed: 220 Mbps down, 160 Mbs Up
I have to ask most questions multiple times to get a response without it timing out.

Thank you for reporting a bug related to ChatGPT.

If relevant and not already provided, we recommend adding a link to the associated ChatGPT conversation and uploading any relevant images here for easier troubleshooting.

I have already attempted the basic things like clearing the cache, and I archived all previous conversations.

Same for me for the last few days

I waste almost all my quota to just try to generate a couple of full answers. Have to constantly either tell it to "continue" or press Regenerate

Another day, another day of network errors.

curious, it sounds like the model begins responding, and then something happens mid-stream. if you reload the conversation, what does your conversation look like? does the error go away? did it stop where the "network error" might have occurred?

Here's a screenshot that occurred just minutes ago. It thinks it finished but it doesn't output very much.

#

It fails over and over. I need to prompt it 5-10 times to get a full response.

#

I have fairly reliable fiber at 200mbs down and up. If it is a network error I would expect it to recover. I don't have issues with any other services that would present itself as actual network issues.

#

When reloading the page this is what is displayed.

#

It has the original prompt, but doesn't have any of the data it tried to provide.

#

If this occurs in the first prompt of the conversation and I reload the page, it has no history of the conversation in the side panel.

There was another thread where somebody debugged this in more depth. Seems like some people using a combination of Chrome with QUIC run into this issue more. Based on that, it'd be worth trying a few things: Disabling QUIC in Chrome, using Firefox, or using a different Internet connection. I've had weird networking issues like this on AT&T Fiber personally as well.

I wish discord didn't exist. While it's great that there was another thread it is basically unsearchable.

I'm using Microsoft Edge and disabling QUIC fixed the issue! Thanks!
