Hi @keen citrus. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Based on the information provided in the extracts, it seems that your prompt might not be working as expected due to a lack of clarity or specificity in the instructions. Here are some suggestions to improve your prompt:

  1. Be more explicit: Make sure your instructions are clear and specific. For example, instead of saying "If user asks about how I can set up my VPS or how i can configure my VPS", you could say "You are an AI assistant that provides step-by-step instructions on setting up a VPS when asked 'How can I set up my VPS?' or 'How can I configure my VPS?'".

  2. Use a user role for individual tasks: The system prompt won’t “modify the prompt” unless that is the task you provide it. Individual tasks are best specified by a user role.

  3. Specify the desired output format: You can also specify the format you want the AI to use when providing the steps. For example, you could add "Present the steps as a numbered list" to your instructions.

Here's how you might revise your prompt based on these suggestions:

Remember, the AI model can't read your mind. The less the model has to guess at what you want, the more likely you'll get it. For more tips on prompt engineering, you can refer to the official OpenAI prompt engineering guide (https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/prompt-engineering) and the community forum (https://community.openai.com/c/prompting/8) where you can ask questions, share tips, and connect with others interested in prompting OpenAI models.
