What are data residency policies of OpenAI? For example, if I am a corporate customer, can I elect that all data will stay in Europe? I am asking in a regulatory context.

Hi @dawn lintel. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Hmm, I don't know enough to give you a confident answer yet. The extracts provided do not contain specific information about OpenAI's data residency policies or the ability for customers to elect that all data will stay in a specific region such as Europe.

However, OpenAI does have a strong commitment to privacy and data security. For example, data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless you explicitly opt in, and API data may be retained for up to 30 days, after which it will be deleted unless otherwise required by law (source (https://platform.openai.com/docs/models)).

For more detailed information about OpenAI's data policies, you may want to review their Privacy Policy (https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy) and Terms of Use (https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use). If you have specific regulatory concerns, it may be best to reach out to OpenAI directly.
