Text Box Extends Excessively and Requires Scrolling in UI

Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a user interface issue where the text input box expands too much vertically when I insert text. This overextension forces me to scroll down excessively to reach the last line each time I type, which is quite disruptive to my workflow.

Here's what happens:

I start typing in the text box.
With each input, the box elongates beyond the necessary size.
To continue typing or to view the last line I've typed, I must scroll down repeatedly.

This seems to be a UI/UX bug that hampers the ease of text entry.

the input box increases in size to accomodate the text size, but when you send the emssage, it should be returning to the normal size, is it not returning to the normal size for you?

I was wondering today that too. I got a similar scenario. I had a large input and the text input box did get big. But within the box it wasn't scrollable. This wasn't the behavior before. This started happening recently after the small and subtle enhancements the site got. It happens on Safari and Firefox.

Does chat work now? It keeps me saying “Hmm… something seems to have gone wrong” 3 day in a row, once I ask to work with data attached as a picture .

When I type a lengthy prompt, the input box correctly expands to accommodate the additional text. The problem is that the box's view remains pinned to the top of the text, rather than following along to the last line where I am actively typing. Consequently, each time I want to review my prompt's most recent text or reach the 'Send' button, I have to scroll down through the entire length of the expanded box. This is especially troublesome when dealing with a prompt as long as 65,000 tokens, as it significantly disrupts the process of composing and reviewing my messages.

Is there a way to make the input view automatically follow the cursor to the bottom of the text as I type?

interesting, now that you mentioned, I feel like this could be an option because both cases are useful

toggling on or off the auto scrolling when the AI is replying

would be a nice addition that would solve this for both people who want it to scroll or not scroll
