I have a teams plan and my old chatgpt account is still active, how can I merge my old chatgpt account into my teams plan?

Hi @lean sonnet. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

You can merge your old ChatGPT account into your ChatGPT Team workspace by following these steps:

  1. Keep your ChatGPT Personal (Free/Plus) workspace. This allows you to keep your data from your personal workspace separate from your Team workspace, which you can access when you switch between workspaces. If you have a Plus subscription, you will maintain your subscription until you cancel your Plus subscription. You will continue to have access to your chats in your Personal workspace, even after cancellation.

  2. Merge your ChatGPT Personal (Free/Plus) workspace into your Team workspace. This allows you to migrate data from your personal workspace to your Team workspace to become one unified workspace, and deletes your personal workspace after migration. If you have a Plus subscription, OpenAI will automatically cancel it and provide a refund for your remaining subscription period, except if you have a mobile subscription. If you have a mobile subscription, please see the linked articles for how to cancel your Plus subscription on iOS or cancel your Plus subscription on Android. Please note that merging your workspaces is irreversible.

For more detailed instructions, you can refer to this help article (https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8801890-can-i-migrate-my-chatgpt-free-or-plus-account-over-to-chatgpt-team).

Please note that the migration of accounts is a feature that OpenAI plans to introduce in the coming weeks, as mentioned in this forum post (https://community.openai.com/t/582180). So, if you don't see the option to merge your accounts yet, it might be because this feature hasn't been rolled out at the time of your query.
