It's adding people from the Middleast with their culutral dress without me asking. I am from the middle east and I live in the US. I find this a bit annoying lol.

If I do not specify in my prompt anyone from the Middleast, why do you do it by default? It's weird. Like REALLY ANNOYING weird. At least, the default should be people around the world do not make them wear their cultural clothing.

It's kinda offensive slightly because to me as a Middleastern, no one in the images wear the Middleastern cultural clothing the proper way. So, it's better to avoid it. They always look like foreigners trying to look Middleastern. Just avoid it Dalle3 lol.

Again, if I explicitly ask for it, display it. Otherwise, NO!

My prompt:
"Create an image colorful smoothies, with people at the gym enjoying them in the background. In the foreground a person holding an empty business card"

Revised prompt:
"Generate an image conveying an energetic and lifelike atmosphere of a bustling gym. In the background, multiple individuals with different descents like Middle-Eastern, Black, and South Asian are enjoying a variety of colorful smoothies at a new smoothie bar. Meanwhile, in the forefront, a cheerful Caucasian male holds a blank business card, eager to spread the news about the savory, nutritious beverages being offered"

What are your guys' thoughts? Anyway to get around this?

Hello! The injected diversity is present to try to counteract the bias of the training data. As a DALL·E dev has phrased it: the model is trained on images from the internet, the internet has a Western bias, so the models in turn have a Western bias. They do the diversity injection to try to limit the amount of bias perpetuated by the model.

If you'd like certain ethnicities represented, you are free to specify yourself. DALL·E won't replace your specified ethnicities with the diversity injection, it will only do this if no ethnicity is specified in the first place.

Finally, thanks for sharing your insight about how the injection can seem offensive sometimes based on the results not looking authentic -- that's really great to know as I don't have that perspective myself!
