GPT-4 Desktop Combining User Messages and Losing Responses

Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new conversation (this conversation will not typically name itself, it will stay as "New Chat")
2. Ask a couple more questions
3. Refresh the page

Expected result:

User messages and GPT-4 response messages

Actual result:

User messages all combined into sone big message, with no responses and a regenerate button.

Additional information

Browser: Google Chrome
OS: macOS Monterey

I'm not sure if this is an issue on my end or not, I've tried clearing cache + cookies, logging out/back in, and using an incognito window but the issue has persisted for about a day now. But the current status is that all systems are operational, so I'm unsure.

For some chats, when sent a new message GPT-4 will also keep responding to the question that was sent before the new one, ignoring the new message entirely, but this hasn't been consistent.

Hello, I don't recognize that "G" icon next to the send button in these screenshots. Do you have any browser extensions installed on Chrome that might be affecting ChatGPT? If so, can you try disabling them and then trying again?

Oh, that’s Grammarly, and I thought an extension could be the cause as well, so I tried it in an incognito window and the same thing happened.

I see, are all of your extensions set to disable in incognito mode?

just passing by the say I have the exact same issue.
This seemed to coincide with another bug I am facing in which responses stopped being generated from Firefox, working only with brave browser.
Disabling extensions or incognito does not seem to have any affect as well

Yes they are! I checked before I tried it out.

Gotcha! Thanks for confirming. Can you try in Firefox as a test? Preferably a fresh install or a private window with all extensions disabled.

I tried it out in Firefox on a fresh install, and it does name the chat and doesn't merge the user messages like on Chrome, but upon refreshing, the last response is still gone with a regenerate button. I also tried the mobile app, and so far, its been working out fine, so I'm guessing it's a desktop issue, but the inconsistency across browsers is a little confusing.

I'm getting these behaviors, too. I do not use any Firefox extensions.

I've noticed, too, that sometimes the last message by a user is ignored and the response repeats. This helps no one and just makes the tool look silly.
