Poslish this question and give an answer.

ChatGPT does not note rate caps, is this normal? What are the current rate caps? Can I cancel my ChatGPT subscription?

Hi @fast ravine. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Yes, ChatGPT does have rate limits. For the ChatGPT API, the rate limits are as follows:

  • Free trial users: 20 requests per minute (RPM) and 40,000 tokens per minute (TPM)
  • Pay-as-you-go users (first 48 hours): 60 RPM and 60,000 TPM
  • Pay-as-you-go users (after 48 hours): 3500 RPM and 90,000 TPM

You can view your current rate limits and how to raise them in the Limits section (https://platform.openai.com/account/limits) of your account settings. If you would like to increase your GPT-4 rate limits, you can do so by increasing your usage tier (https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/rate-limits/usage-tiers).

As for your subscription, yes, you can cancel your ChatGPT Plus subscription at any time. To do this, click “My Account” in the sidebar (https://chat.openai.com/chat). Then click “Manage my subscription” in the pop-up window. You’ll be directed to a Stripe checkout page where you can select “Cancel Plan”. Your cancellation will take effect the day after the next billing date. You can continue using the services until then. To avoid being charged for your next billing period, cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before your next billing date. Subscription fees are non-refundable.

Yes, it's normal that the ChatGPT Plus subscription doesn't explicitly mention rate caps. The subscription primarily offers benefits such as availability even when demand is high, faster response speed, and priority access to new features. It doesn't directly affect the rate limits of the API.
