Question: Is it possible for our team to publish a customized GPT model to the OpenAI's public GPT Store?

Yes, it is possible for your team to publish a customized GPT model to the OpenAI's public GPT Store. Any ChatGPT Plus subscriber can create a GPT and share it with others. In order to publish it to the Store, you must first verify your Builder Profile. Your Builder Profile can be accessed from your profile settings or via the “Update” panel when editing a GPT. You can verify your Builder Profile with either your name or a website domain. After you’ve verified, you’ll be able to publish your GPT for “Everyone”. Note that GPT’s with “Anyone with a link” selected will not be shown in the store[^1^].

Please note that every GPT that gets published to the store undergoes review[^5^]. If you select the visibility as “Anyone with a link”, it should be accessible immediately[^5^]. If you want your GPT to be considered for featuring, you can fill out a form provided by OpenAI[^9^].

Also, keep in mind that if you want to publish your GPT without a privacy policy, you should conduct your own research to understand potential future issues[^3^].

Question: Why is the option to add local plugins no longer available in the plugins store pop-up?

Based on the information from the OpenAI community forum, it appears that the ability to enable local plugins has been temporarily disabled due to a performance issue discovered during a development day[^1^]. The root cause of the issue is still unresolved, hence the feature cannot be brought back at the moment[^1^].

As a workaround, it is suggested to test out endpoints (both in plugins and actions) by using a reverse proxy on top of localhost if possible[^1^].

Please note that any changes to the ai-plugin.json file require you to manually update the manifest files by going through the "Develop your own plugin" flow in the plugin store[^2^].

The Teams subscription is a standalone product and has some increased functionality over Plus plans, but lacks other functionality that Plus plans have. So, if you and your example friend want to use only the workspace account, you can do that. However, if you cancel the “Personal Plus” account, you will not be able to create a builder profile, verify it, link it to a website or provide a privacy policy. Although the GPTs that are created under the Workspace account can be shared publicly, none of the builder profile settings are (currently) available in Workspace.

A feedback feature was added to the builder profile section that allows developers to get feedback from users. However, because of the above, it makes it problematic for a business to take advantage of the feature.

Also, while the announcement may be confusing/misleading, you are actually able to share GPTs within workspace as outlined in the announcement details. However, the ability to control WHAT is shared is only available to Enterprise customers (150 seats and up).
