what's the best development strategy for testing? I'm limited to 40 messages/3hrs which isn't conducive to making and testing small prompt and action edits.

The limitation of 40 messages per 3 hours can indeed be a challenge when developing and testing custom GPTs. However, there are a few strategies you can employ to make the most of your testing within these constraints:

  1. Plan Your Tests Carefully: Before you start testing, plan out what you want to test and how you're going to do it. This can help you avoid wasting any of your limited messages on unnecessary or redundant tests.

  2. Use Smaller Models for Initial Testing: If possible, use smaller models for your initial testing. These models may not perform as well as the larger ones, but they can give you a good idea of whether your prompts and actions are working as expected.

  3. Leverage Simulation Tools: If available, use simulation tools to test your prompts and actions. This can help you identify any issues without using up your message limit.

  4. Optimize Your Prompts and Actions: Try to make your prompts and actions as efficient as possible. This can help you get more information from each message, reducing the number of messages you need to send.

  5. Use the Community: The OpenAI community is a great resource for getting help and advice on testing custom GPTs. You can find many useful discussions and tips on the OpenAI Community Forum (https://community.openai.com).

Remember, the 40 messages per 3 hours limit is a measure put in place to ensure fair usage of resources. It's important to respect this limit and use your messages wisely.
