Steps to reproduce:

  • Use the GPT-4 messaging system on Windows 10 with Google Chrome.
  • Send a series of messages.

Expected result:

  • The interaction count should accurately reflect the number of messages sent, with a total of 40 interactions available every 3 hours.

Actual result:

  • After sending only 19 messages, the system erroneously claims that the 40-message limit has been reached, causing an interruption in service.

Additional information:
Browser: Google Chrome
OS: Windows 10

I am extremely angry and shocked by this system! I carefully counted the number of messages I sent to GPT-4, and to my complete surprise, I found that only 19 messages were actually sent. Meanwhile, the system had the audacity to accuse me of using up my quota of 40 messages every 3 hours. What kind of madness is this? Not only have they reduced our usage (I remember the days when we had 50 interactions every 3 hours), but now we are facing the absurdity of having our interactions taken away, or at the very least, the method of counting interactions is unclear and incredibly unfair. I pay for 40 interactions, not just 19! This is incredibly outrageous!

Hello! Just want to double check: had it been more than 3hrs since you used GPT-4 before sending the 19 messages? Asking because the cap is a rolling cap--it doesn't reset all at once, you get each use back individually, 3hrs after using it originally.

Also, things like asking for a regenerated answer, or asking for a continuation of an answer, also count as "one", even though you're not sending a new message yourself.

Were you using regular GPT-4, or a custom GPT?
