I thought Dall-E credits were gifted upon signup. I’ve never used it, but I just tried to, and my account is showing 0 credits. What happened?

That ended last April. Now everyone starts with 0 credit.

You can access DALL-E through Bing Image Creator. It's not exactly the same as DALL-E through ChatGPT, but still a good tool for must purposes.

This requires Chrome/Edge and a Microsoft account?

You'll need a Microsoft sign-in, I think. I use Edge but I imagine you can go through any browser - just google "Bing Image Creator" for a link.
