Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:
When I upload an image, this immediately pops up and the image is removed.

Expected result:
To be able to upload an image

Actual result:
Image is removed. See screenshot.

Additional information

Browser: Happens on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari
OS: MacOS, but it shouldn't matter since this is on the chatGPT website.

the green arrow in the text box is a grammarly plugin, but this happens in browsers without any plugins too so that's not the issue.

This is happening on my pc, on my phone's browser, on my phone's chatgpt app. I cannot upload images, and I cannot render images with dalle3. I've clearing browsing data on both my pc and my phone. same thing. I signed out, restarted, etc, same thing. It's been happening for like 12 hours. I was only using it intermittently yesterday. certainly not a high volume usage day. I very much doubt I went over any user quota. I've hit the daily image limit in the past, but this is not behaving like that, and if that were the issue it'd be reset by now.

Those of you who are hitting the "user quota exceeded" issue, can you share what use cases you've been using uploads for? The quota is currently really high, so we're not expecting folks to already be hitting the cap. Getting a sense for how you're using the app will help us determine what the quota should be.

I don't think I've been uploading anything exceptional. I use the vision model for images fairly regularly. and I've uploaded a few documents here and there, but nothing large. Vast majority of my uploads and downloads are images.

I messaged customer service 2 weeks ago. It's been like this for over 2 weeks. I haven't used chatgpt in any sort of high volume manner for months. I have no idea what could be compelling this to happen. I cannot upload or download anything. And seems like it's just going to stay that way for the long haul.

Here's the helpful message I got from customer service. I responded explaining this didn't address the issue and got no more responses. I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do at this point since my account seems to be effectively broken.

Does customer service still exist at openai? I've messaged them over and over, not incessantly, but it's been over 3 weeks now. If I'm not going to get any kind of resolution I should at least get a refund right? Does anyone still read these? What am I supposed to do?

extension are known to do stuff in the background that can use the backend in bad ways and get your account in bad shape

dont use any for a day and then retry if it begins to work

there are other limits than just the regular messages/hours but not visible to the public as they are controlled by openai ui. extension bypass some of these
