#babbage-002 / completions EOL

Hi @chilly summit. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base. :wave:
Fine-tuning of the babbage model, including babbage-002, with the completions endpoint is scheduled to end on January 4, 2024. After this date, you will no longer be able to create new fine-tuned versions with these models. The recommended replacement for babbage is babbage-002 source (https://platform.openai.com/docs/deprecations).
Please note that the original /v1/fine-tunes API along with legacy models (including those fine-tuned with the /v1/fine-tunes API) will also be shut down on January 04, 2024. The new fine-tuning API is /v1/fine_tuning/jobs source (https://platform.openai.com/docs/deprecations).
Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:

I dont think this is accurate
yep it mixed the two but the link it gave has the correct info
the question i asked is not answered on that link. i asked when babbage-002/completions endpoint will end, and there is no end date specified on that page
it has no such date so its not going away
so if they didnt say somewhere else then the better answer would be 'it's not currently been announced', instead of halluicinating misinformation
@true mango ^
in my AI chatbots a single line in the system prompt that says 'if you don't know the answer just say you don't know, don't make something up' helps
but it is marked as legacy, so it is going away, just dont know when yet.

best answer would be ' it's marked legacy, which means it will soon be deprecated but no specific date is given yet'
where is it marked like that? babbage-002?
babbage-002 only works via the completions endpoint, and completions is marked Legacy
@lapis finch can you review the conversation and your original answer and confirm or revise the information if there is anything innaccurate?
yes but model and endpoint are still two different things as the model could be used elsewhere later when completion is deprecated
