Hello. I have been using GPT for a while. I pay for the service. As of today a new capcha system was introduced. Every time I type a new question I have ot take a quiz that takes about 3-5 minutes. I have to match one squiggled shape x a number to another photo. I can not explain how infuriating this test is and how much it is slowing me down. Please please remove that test. I understand having to take it once a day. But for every single new Quesiton is maddening. If its because I use a VPN that makes sence because most people work through VPNs these days. I have to for work. Please be realistic with the captcha tests.
#New Capcha security system is overkill

Hello, what browser(s) have you seen this in? You mentioned you use a VPN for work--does it only happen when the VPN is enabled?
I'll give it a try real quick
and the browser is Brave Browser
And yeah. It works fine without the VPN turned on
Gotcha, definitely seems to be related to the VPN then. I've seen OpenAI staff remark before that the difficulty with VPN traffic is that it can be hard to distinguish between bad actor traffic and VPN traffic, which results in situations like this.
As another test, can you check to see if you have the same issue with the VPN turned on, but in a non-Chromium browser like a fresh install of Firefox? Sometimes Chromium/non-Chromium can make a difference.
I'll give firefox a try rela quick
Alrighty so
- Its happening on Chrome, FireFox and Brave with VPN on
- Its not happening on Chrome, FireFox and Brave with VPN off
This is new as of today.
fresh install of firefox for the first time on my system so no chance of lingering cache files
then probably a lot of bot like activity originating from same the vpn network and it will keep happening
Makes sence but hopefully it gets fixed. I know there is a lot of us that have to work through VPNs for our day job that we use ChatGPT at. If it could just check for the IP and if the IP changes then sure ask again. But on every question. It just isn't realisticly viable.
Many thanks for all the help and info all the same ^_^ I very much apreciate it
I also have this problem with the Samsung Internet browser and Firefox browser on Windows when I have my VPN connected. It's really annoying when that happens and weird security image that is hard to understand.
