Manually uploaded avatar/display picture of customGPT disappearing

The pictures I upload to set a dp from my customGPT's keep disappearing after a while

same here. I created several custom GPTs and half of their profile pictures disapeared also

Was there anything different about the half of them that didn't disappear? I have done this dozens of times for about 5 different custom GPTs and I have never once seen one that didn't disappear as soon as I navigated away from the builder. I've tried every format of image I can think of. I tried hosting the image and providing a link to GPT Builder. The only thing that remains is images generated by DALL-E, which is better than being clearly broken, but I need to use my custom manually designed logo that matches my App designed to compliment this GPT and share its branding.

I'd really appreciate anything anyone can tell me, espeically if you've uploaded an image and it stayed. What format did you use? What browser and OS did you upload it from? Anything

I have not tried it again since I saw that bug weeks ago. In my case, those that keep the profile picture are those which I asked the GPT configurer to create the profile picture for that GPT. The others which I used previously generated imges and uploaded by passing it to the configurer appeared only for some minutes or hours. The pictures that I tried to upload manually in the 'create' tab, using the corresponding button didnt appear at all, not even a message or feedback saying it was uploaded or it was not. I was configuring som GPTs at the same time, I could see the profile pictures but, after loading the 'explore' page soon I detected that they started to disapear, now showing some GPT error in the profile picture.

I think I may have found the fix—someone on the OpenAI community forum said they got it to stick by using an image that's exactly 700px square and saving it as a JPEG. Then they uploaded it in the Configure tab by clicking on the image at the top of that screen, choosing "Upload Photo" and selecting the image in their filesystem in the dialog that appears (no involvement of GPT Builder). This didn't do anything for me on my first try in Safari, but then I tried it in Chrome and it updated the profile picture right away and has stuck since (it's been a couple hours and I verified that another user could see it still).

I started to notice the issue today when working on a GPT. The upload button is broken in Safari and Firefox; you can pull up the file navigation window, select the image you want to upload, but then nothing happens after uploading. ~I haven't tried Brave yet.~

The workaround I was using was uploding the image to the GPT assistant that is responsible for modifying your custom GPT. This works, but then the image disappears after some time.

• The upload button is broken in Brave as well.
• DALL•E 3 generated logos are not affected by this bug.
• Exporting the logo to JPEG and 700x700 did not resolve the issue; unable to get the image to upload.

May I recommend that everyone in this thread star this bug report to help get some eyeballs on this matter.

I gave up after the first couple weeks of this tool being out to get an image to stick, never had any luck and it never mentioned any requisite parameters for the dimensions etc. After a couple chats with some others builders with the same problem we came to the conclusion this was working as intended while they figure out how to implement the feature safely, but that;s just noise/speculation. Would really love to see this issues clarified and resolved. I have been operating under the assumption that no one is uploading custom 'logos' for their GPTs
