Can I fine-tune GPT-4?

I'm looking to conduct academic research on GPT-4 comprehension in a specific domain, but I'm getting contradictory information on whether you support fine-tuning on GPT-4.

The Help Center page says "We don’t currently offer fine-tuning using GPT-4" but the Platform docs say "Fine-tuning for GPT-4 is in an experimental access program - eligible users can request access in the fine-tuning UI."

Does anyone know how I can gain eligibility to request access to GPT-4 fine-tuning?

if you cant see it you cant request it. it's based on previous usage and experience currently

thanks for the response! do you think I'd have any luck contacting OpenAI directly and asking for access for research purposes?
