Bug Report:

Steps to reproduce:

Clicked on the link on the ChatGPT Plus Invite email to navigate to chat.openai.com link in browser

Clicked on dropdown to select ChatGPT 4

Clicked on dropdown to "Upgrade to Plus" button

Expected result:
A button to subscribe and make payment

Actual result:
Join Waitlist button

Additional information

Browser: Firefox, Chrome
OS: macos

Summary:

I applied for ChatGPT plus waitlist a while ago and received an email today that I am invited to join ChatGPT plus (ChatGPT 4). When I went to the portal it seems like that I was removed from the waitlist, however, the website indicated that I need to join the waitlist again and provided no way to just opt-in/pay to start subscription.

For now, I have joined the waitlist again. Can you please fix this issue and help me by sending me a link to subscribe to the service? I would really appreciate that.

Yes the mail is legit and from the official e-mail so it's not a scam or prank, probably a delay or something when sending an invite to everyone on the waitlist at once

Hey everyone! I may have found a solution. Open a private Firefox window. Login to ChatGPT. Open the invitation email. Right click the link and select "Copy Link Without Site Tracking." Paste it into the address bar in the private window where you are logged into ChatGPT. When I did this, a box immediately appeared inviting me to sign up for ChatGPT Plus with a button that directed me to the payments page.

Just to report to the Team there is a hack going around in the community -

As per the hack you don't need to be on the waitlist anymore ......
Follow the steps
login to ChatGPT
now if you click on upgrade
Signup for waitlist(may not be necessary)
now change the URL to https://chat.openai.com/invite/accepted
Now you are in for payment

OPEN AI Team might be interested in fixing it ?

Sounds like a cache issue in that case. I already have + but saw the post fly by, generally sites cache some data to prevent reloading it each time, it can be that that conflicts and causes it to not appear.

Hey guys, just FYI what I did is more or less the same, but I implemented to that method some steps from @slender garden solution:

open private Firefox window
Log in to ChatGPT
Copy Link Without Tracking and paste it (you might try signing up for the waiting list before you do that)
Change the URL to https://chat.openai.com/invite/accepted
You should be able to pay

These steps allowed me to avoid waiting for the second time on waiting list after having waited over a month for the first time. I cleared cookies and you know the rest - I was forced to sign up for the waiting list again or do something about it. I also managed to solve my payment issues this way.. I managed to complete the Payment with Revolut.
